The Nigerian Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences apply a double blind peer review. Authors remain anonymous to the reviewers during the review procedure and as the authors name is removed from the manuscript under review.
Each article is first assessed by two of the editors of the editorial board and, if it is judged suitable for NJPAS, it is sent to two or three external referees for a double blind peer review which will take account of the scientific criteria, purpose of the article and its merit.
Based on the recommendations of the reviewers, the editors then decide whether the paper should be accepted as is, revised or rejected. In case of revisions, a final decision on publication will be made after resubmission. Only papers of high scientific quality will be accepted for publication. After review process, the Editor will inform the authors of the acceptance, rejection or necessity of revision of the manuscript. Any technical queries will be referred back to the author, although the Editors reserve the right to make alterations in the text without altering the technical content. If accepted, the manuscript shall not be published elsewhere in the same form, in either the same or another language, without the consent of the Editors. If there is no agreement on the part of the editors, the editor-in-chief will make the final decision.
